I inherited my grandmother’s cast irons after she passed. Going on 6th generation now. They were nice and rusty, fuzzy as hell. Put em in the oven on self cleaning cycle and they came out dark gunmetal gray. A damp wipe to get the powdered residue off and quickly hit em with coconut oil, it was what I had. That

Stick those in the oven and set to “self cleaning”. I’ve had worse come out like new.

Self cleaning oven is great for fuzzy rusty cast irons. They come out like new. Then season to your liking. I’ve only had to do this once in 10 years.

I use flirc, and my old cable remote. Muscle memory won out. Also a cheap mini keyboard with touchscreen for non media center functions.
