Yeah, I have a high school friend that was exactly this. Doesn’t help that we’re like 90% certain she’s legitimately histrionic. Even though we had a bunch of friends who were born again for a while at the time of her conversion (which coincided with the conversion of a guy she fancied), she got waaaaay crazy with it.

I said that BMI is bullshit. Waist hip ratio is better, as is bodyfat percentage, which I mentioned.

No, 100 isn’t the average weight at that height. It’s an okay weight, but you can certainly be 115 at five feet and not be 15 pounds over weight. I’m 5’ (btw, 5” indicates five inches, not feet) at about 125-128 lbs. and while I say I’m a little chubby, I’m what’s honestly an acceptable and healthy weight for that

That would require them to be literate.

This is not at all a new thing. I’ve been seeing this in Japanese and Korean nail salons for years, spreading to other places. There are even nail artists that have recreated the Shire on their manicures.

Now marble nails and aquarium nails? Those are the latest trends.

Except, if you’ve ever made jewelry or you Google “comfort clutch” you’ll see that the plastic actually does serve the purpose stated above. They’re support for larger, heavier earrings. You don’t need them for lighter earrings, but ones with heavy jewels are recommended to wear with a comfort clutch so that the

That’s true, but you still don’t know if or how well she hid it, is all.

She definitely had her own issues on top of that. My parents weren’t this bad, but they seemed it to a lot of my friend growing up since the only one of my close friends growing up was also Asian, and his monther was born here and is only half. The pressure is generally on children of two Asian imigrants.

That said,

That’s assuming that her parents knew. I was cutting when I was an early teen, but I knew how to hide it. I also cut places that were frequently scratched due to clumsiness, so I could use that as an excuse if scabbing happened.

Well, part of why we were lucky was that I think wasn’t a riptide, just undertow. But either way, as much as people say you should try to save people when you see them in distress, saving a drowning person or potentially drowning person without training or a floatation device can easily lead to death.

I’m really sorry

Dear god, this. A friend of mine saw me get caught underwater while we were at the beach and tried to pull me up, forgetting that 1) I’m the stronger swimmer and 2) he might be taller, but that doesn’t mean he can just stand up in the water and haul me back up when undertow is a thing that happens. Yeah, I was

Nah, gorillas only have one inch and while I’m not a total size queen, I definitely need more than that when with a guy. Sure, he’s got a smoulder, but I’m not willing to let that charm get to my head only to find out that he’s lacking in the oral department as well as size.

In all seriousness, he’s a pretty gorilla

I’m a 29-year-old, and I’m still baffled by these dress codes. I have no clue if the district I attended changed theirs to adopt more of these modesty clauses. I would cheat the dresscode with technicalities all the time, as would a lot of my classmates. I would wear tankinis with open dress shirts and other belly

I had considered becoming a therapist if I were to find no real opportunities with the arts. When I considered it more seriously, I fantasized about basically becoming the new Dr. Ruth because she was kind of a role model when I was figuring sex out, but even then I felt like a newer, non-religiously bound world view

Again again, I’m not defending the film at all. I’m a person of mixed race who gave up on a (tertiary) acting dream because this shit makes little room for new actors of mixed race find work.

I’m just saying that your assessment of how genetics work is incorrect.

Again, not defending the casting choice as it does make it hard for people of visibly mixed races get jobs as actors, but that’s not an accurate assessment of how genetics show up. I had a friend who is the pinnacle of ginger, but his father is half Hawai’ian and his mom is full Hawai’ian.

It’s tertiary in my goals, really. Creating comics and writing are my dreams.

Agreed. I gave up on acting because my ethnic ambiguity doesn’t make a lot of room for my face to get cast in stuff unless the ad says it’s looking for colorblind casting. And then it’s still a toss up. But being mixed race of mostly Asian, Malay, and White, I look too white for Asian characters and not white enough

At least if that’s their excuse for not letting a passenger have something that is otherwise complementary. Or you know, disallow a water bottle, ‘cause god knows how many times I’ve heard of issues with water or breast milk being brought on a flight.

Sock + batteries type weapon. But again, you could use anything with enough weight that way, and a can is still liable to bursting after a few hits, rendering the weapon ineffective. So yeah. Bullshit excuse.
