(Until it took an arrow to the knee.)
This is great advice. Thanks!
Lovely article! My drum controller has had sensitivity issues out of the box, so it hasn’t gotten much use. What did you do to get your controller recognizing notes consistently?
Absolutely. My wife suffers from a disability that prevents her from engaging in energetic or overly strenuous exercise, and she enjoys the game a lot - even if she isn’t always well enough to play it every day.
Ring Fit Adventure is fantastic, and a legitimate workout. I don’t really want to be going to a gym during the pandemic, so it’s been something of a revelation in terms of keeping fit.
The Switch was the system of 2020 in my household for sure.
I don’t have a particular horse in that race. At the risk of sounding “both sidesy”, I do agree that Nintendo has a tendency to be notoriously hard to work with (and at times, actively obstructive), but the segments of the Melee community I’ve interacted with (both online and in person), are some of the most hostile,…
Good list. I’d also add Mulan (2020) to this list - it’s merits as a movie are debatable (at best), but the 4K transfer is stunning.

A specific subsection of the Smash community is entitled to their opinions. Most of my friends and I (who play the game regularly, but aren’t hardcore about it), think that Nintendo has, crappy netcode aside, handled Smash Ultimate perfectly.
Wow, I really expected more from a movie that otherwise had such stellar writing.
I was coming in here to say just this - Smash Ultimate is one of the best examples of DLC I’ve seen in a game - each character is well thought out, comes with a stage, new songs, spirits, and is reasonably priced. As you pointed out, the game was absolutely massive at launch, so the DLC didn’t feel intrusive - it…
Yeah, no joke - for a while, the company’s amazing releases had me buying things before the reviews too, if only because the reviews would usually only tell me something that I already knew.
Nice! SaGa Frontier was an underrated JRPG in its time, and I’m excited to see what Square does with it.
You’re a hero! Thanks for this!
I saw this thumbnail, got momentarily hyped that Alundra was getting a remake, read the headline, and became sad. Ah, well - the music is still great.
$5.85 million, as the author pointed out is a slap on the wrist, but I’m really hoping that this is the start of a movement that sees developers who utilize “surprise mechanics” punished more consistently.
You’re absolutely correct - I remember when this change happened, and thought it was really dumb. I too, am glad that they’re walking it back.
No thanks. The Facebook brand is toxic and creepy.
I like the fact that Steve is so unapologetically different from the rest of the cast - I have no idea how to play him yet, but TNT + minecart shenanigans are fun, even if I’m the one getting exploded by this combination 70% of the time.
