I mean this isn’t even their first Switch release. They’ve been releasing games on the Switch since 2018.

OR...maybe people engage with games as art and therefore have nuanced priorities of what does and does not make a good game? Art is a bigger priority for some people. Some people love or hate games based solely on the soundtrack.
If I said, “Hey this game is beautiful but it controls like shit” I wouldn’t tell you to…
This is where I landed. For the most part the occasionally ugly textures and comically small draw distances weren’t a big deal (though it certainly distracted me more than once), but late game when you’re largely flying around and looking for specific pokemon/items it starts to genuinely get in the way.
Maybe people expected more than passable, but passable works just fine for me given I never thought this company would ever try something new
I’ve been arguing over this for a while now and honestly I am tired of gamefreak. Yes it’s not only their fault that they don’t get a proper budget and have tight deadlines.
But it becomes more and more apparent that they’re not a good fit to bring pokemon games up to today’s standards when they just reached the…
I’m currently hunting for all the Unown variants, and last night I got to play, “Is that actually a Pokemon or just terrible object clipping?”
As a first entry in a new series, of course it will take some growing into.
In my opinion this is simply an outlet for a growing frustration that a beloved franchise is still getting entries where much of it seems so half assed. I believe people would be overjoyed to get a Pokemon that feels like it swings for the fences like Smash Ultimate, or would be content if it stayed in safe territory…
I’m very much in the “art direction beats graphical fidelity” camp, but this game doesn’t really seem to have much of either. And the level of pop-in I’ve seen in some of these videos goes beyond a graphical issue and becomes a gameplay issue.
I'm a United fan, and having seen the pictures of the victim and the audio of him abusing her, he fully deserves everything coming his way.
Game Freak has burned me way too much the past few years to get Arceus on Day 1. I’ll wait for reviews, and if it’s considered good (and by good, I mean significantly better than the last few mainline games), I’ll wait until it goes on sale for $30.
Bring Back Ask Kotaku. :(
100% agreed, studios look at successful games and skilled developers and say “They were able to do this because they’re good in a crunch” instead of realizing just how much better they could be if they applied better pacing to their workload.
Generally speaking, those kind of purges usually start with the people at the bottom because they’re more “replaceable”.
I’m hearing Aerosmith, personally.
I could see maybe getting little upset if Kirby is rocking a realistic firearm but it’s hard to be outraged over a brightly colored blunderbuss that fires stars.
That’s not to say this is the first time we’ve seen Kirby employ deadly weaponry since he debuted almost 30 years ago.
Does Kirby even eat meat, or is he finally free to live out his violent, gun-related fantasies in Forgotten Land’s post-apocalyptic environments?
Thanks for the list but I do have one request: could future version have if the listed date is for both physical & digital, physical only or digital only? Sometime the two are different & it sure save a bit of embarrassment when stopping by Ye Olde Gamestop for something listed as out on “X” date but isn’t for retail…
