Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars looks really promising. I’m still in the middle of the games I bought in the last eshop sale, so I’ll be looking to see how it reviews.

>new policy of no work meetings on any Friday

Bit of a bummer, but between SMTV and the New Horizons DLC, I'm set through the end of the year anyway.

Yeah, I thought it was leading up to a $90+ price tag, and not "standard pricing for remastered collections."

MVP. +1

LOL, I literally just restarted my island tonight. It looks like they’re addressing a lot of the complaints that people have had, and the DLC looks excellent.

I’m hoping they do too. That is one part that I feel has gotten less good over the years. People complained that the original NPCs were “mean” in the first game, but at least they had some dang personality. I’m hoping the hint about increased NPC interactions means they will and they just didn’t want to say it because

Yeah, I’m actually really pleased. It looks like they’ve heard the complaints people have with the current state and are addressing them, like having the plaza to buy from the traveling merchants so you don’t feel screwed when you FINALLY catch Redd again and he just has the same shit as always.

The new DLC actually

It's very convenient in this "fuck Nintendo" post, they only make a passing mention that the game is actually developed by the much smaller company, Mercury Steam.

Exactly. Waited 16 years for Dread to come out and they’re promoting stealing it. Like, don’t be surprised if Nintendo doesn’t invest in the next Metroid then.

Kind of hard to feel sorry for him when he has clearly stated that he knows Sega takes this stuff seriously and then decided to violate an NDA anyway.

Yeah that part of the criticism didn’t sit right with me either. Like the author I’m obviously colored by my own experience, but coming from a family that is almost entirely obese, my grandparents in particular who got that way through overeating and lack of exercise, they do move slow! Being overweight at 20 is not

In some ways, this whole name removal thing reminds me of why getting celebrity tattoos is a bad idea. For every person, you only know a small piece of what they choose to show you. Someone can both be the nicest person you personally have ever met and the biggest asshole to someone else. At least dropping “Jeph” is

Nintendo of America is a sales and marketing arm, not the decision makers. And I’d be surprised if harassing the Japanese president got them to go “I should fund this game on non-Nintendo platforms.”

Is Astria Ascending intending to be a homage to two games that just came out within the last few years and not, you know, the original JRPGs that Bravely Default and Octopath Traveler themselves are homages to?

Looks cool. Pity it’s just on Apple Arcade.

I loaded up on games in the current eshop sale, so I’m set for a bit. I do want to circle back to checking out Eastward, Lost in Random, Astria Ascending, and ActRaiser Renaissance. I finally stopped trying to slog through MHS2, so I’m getting the feeling that these smaller titles are probably where my personal GOTY

This looks really interesting!

Agreed. I understand why 5e is so popular: it’s really easy to pick up the gist of it in very little time.

One of my DMs isn’t a big fan of the “you should have a balanced party” because if no one wants to be cleric (or whatever), then he doesn’t want to force someone to have less fun just for the sake of making the encounters easier on his side. But then he makes it so we aren’t destined to die just because we don’t have
