It’s really, really good and very re-watchable.

Where he’s going, he doesn’t need eyes!
It’s tremendously sad news, but I commend that baller attitude towards death. As someone with my own serious health issues, it’s kind of aspirational.
The basic business of Hollywood. The higher your budget is, the more people you have to appeal to and the inherently less idiosyncratic your work can be. A24 has made a name on producing idiosyncratic work from artistic directors.
A lot of their first two albums are at least pretty good, and some of it is even great, but in general “The Gizmos by way of Sunny Day Real Estate by way of KISS” just reminds me of how good those bands are (or, in the case of KISS, how uniquely weird)
Didn’t you hear? Some idiot from the New Yorker accused EEAAO of being a Marvel pitch reel in their review without doing the research to find out they actually turned down Loki to make it which was a smart move as they got critical acclaims and awards from EEAAO that Loki wouln’t have.
Kind of a stupid thing to hear. The best movies are all character/auteur-driven, doesn’t matter the genre, characters is always at the core of a good story.
From Lord of the Rings to Indiana Jones, Iron Man, Saving Private Ryan, Logan, The Dark Knight, Deadpool, Matrix, Kingsman, etc etc those movies were successful…
“Ultimately the affair ended. Bowser just couldn’t handle the disapproving stares from his friends and family, and Elephant Peach simply ate the flowers.”
I generally like A24's output but this seems both inevitable and sad.
How exactly does one go bankrupt by making as you said 1 million movies that return 10 million?
“multiverse MacGuffin”?
Good ole “line goes up” mentality. You can’t “stay small” in capitalism, you have to keep growing exponentially! Never plateau, just continue making money and growing forever and ever. This makes total sense and it’s not like you’re going to hit a plateau or run out of an audience, the world and its resources are…
What are they gonna do about it, throw some puppies at him!? Psh. Pet Shop Boys my ass.
Shocker is a great flick. Mitch Pileggi just owns the scene anytime he’s on screen. He’s both funny and terrifying and you get a real sense he wouldn’t hesitate to fuck someone up for no reason.
1) I’ve never heard of the majority of the films in this list, and of the ones I’ve heard of, Killer Klowns is the only one I’ve bothered to see
I saw a trailer before Talk To Me and I wanted to walk out.
ITT two humourless bastards.
