I can confirm that AT&T staff in Northern California did get an email around that time (1:30 pm) stating that anything ordered after that time would be subject to delay.

Just went into the store to pre-order ours. Went fairly smooth after a bit of a wait however when we were checking out the last phone the store got an email stating that any new orders received would not ship until at least the 25th
