It’s funky and weird, and some people will like it. When it comes around, it will make a lot of current vehicles look obsolete and old-fashioned. A comfortable, affordable, cheap-to-run latest-thing car will sell like hotcakes, at least to the mothers of elementary school kids. 

yeah those same “america first” “buy american” MAGA folk are all shopping at wal0mart too. 

Problem is that there is a very real possibility the next 4 years are gonna be MAGA years, and the idea of subsidizing a foreign company to combat china wouldn’t exactly fly with the base. 

Hot take. The US best bet to combat the “evil threat of BYD” is to subsidize Kia and Hyundai vehicles. American manufacturers simply are not innovative enough to generate demand.
