Windows running on a phone hasn’t ever been very good.

I love the poster. Color, yes. Tag-line, awesome. But there’s something about the body composition of the chest and shoulders that’s feels a little off. It’s like some sort of Liefeld-ish misalignment going on up there. Shouldn’t there be more of the left shoulder visible given the angle of her chest?

That color fade as Barbara looks up perfectly reflects why this experiment is so much more interesting visually and dramatically. The DC cartoon is an attempt to make the events feel more realistic rather than utilize the stylistic options to heighten what is transpiring the way Ryderup does.

This new one sounds as subtly dark/perverse as The One I Love was and I LOVED that movie. He’s very good at throwing your expectations, sympathies and understandings off-balance.

I’m less surprised by this given that Chinese investors were all over the opening production credits. I counted at least two, one of which was Alibaba. I’m actually surprised there wasn’t MORE of this sort of thing throughout the movie.

And the basic concept of a show that tries to grapple with the question of whether heroes need to be dark and violent to be interesting seems especially relevant, in the era of Batman v Superman.

That’s how I felt about the entire film...the whole thing felt less like a new Star Wars movie and more like a bunch of famous people got together and made their own Star Wars fan film. It felt like everyone was playing dress-up.

Good. I hope that’s the case. I love a good football game as much as anybody, especially ones that feel like video game versions of the real thing, but not at the expense of these exploited students. I hope we never get a college sports game ever again until these guys are appropriate compensated.
