I grew up in NYC and maintain that it's the best city in the world to be from, but living here is overpriced and a pain in the ass.

It's a mess, and while not the fault of the site designers, seems to work with the site design plan. It feels like they're trying to get away from the things that make the AV Club a unique site and to kill comments burying them under a bunch of ads and linkbaity nonsense. The fact that the system requires multiple

You can rent it out. I've already moved in over at the TI boards.

It's probably something with logins. My avatar picture is gone, and mouseover shows I've got 61 commments. Weird.

It looks horrible. Even on my phone - why the fuck do I want four or six huge pictures that tell me next to nothing? I want content on the main page, not endless scrolling, flicking, flipping or whatever-the-fuck it is that I'm supposed to do to find stuff that was front and center until early this morning.

I haven't tried editing my browser, and doubt I will, but thanks for the tip. This does remind me a lot of The Dissolve, another site filled with AV Club writers that I love, producing content I don't ever read because the design is so ugly.

By tomorrow I'll be reading stuff on TWOP again, by next year, I'll barely remember the url for the AV club.

Assuming this is really Todd, thanks for all the great content over the years. This new layout is probably the final nudge to get me to stop reading the site, though. Hope to see you writing someplace else soon!

Speak for yourself. When the next site design rolls around, I won't be here to notice.

3.5 is dead. We've all upgraded to Zip Disks.

The Dissolve is unreadable on most of my systems. Not so much for functionality, I just think it's hideous and so never go there.

. . . in pog form!

As much as I hate the new design, thanks for coming on to discuss it. I don't understand why two articles take up about a third of the screen, and there are only a total of six features visible before I have to keep scrolling. It reminds me a lot of the Onion's redesign, another site that i used to visit daily but

Josh - you misspelled hideous in the headline. Under the new design, I can see exactly 6 articles on my entire monitor screen. If I want to find anything else, I have to scroll, and scroll and scroll some more. Do one inventory and one newswire headline really need to take up an entire third of the screen?

This is great news. I served with Wes Ochse in the Army in the early '90s. He intended to become an author and I'm glad his career is going well.

The never home part is the best thing. But yeah, it seems like cops have a higher than average divorce rate.

I think you should swap the first two. We're pretty sure that Rosa has a shower, at least, and that Amy is carrying around expired condoms.

Until they brought the pies in, I thought for sure they were talking about pizza pies.

In my country, officer insults you!
