Oh god—rosemary garlic bread is literally the best combination of everything. Give me a glass of wine with that and I don’t even need cheese (I’ll take cheese, but whatever).

I made buscuits from scratch this week. Now I am kicking myself because it is so easy and I could have been doing this for decades. I might make a loaf of bread tonight because I am feeling down. Punching some dough and then stuffing my face with warm carbs seems like a great idea.

Did you cook, or buy, anything fun? I made some nice rosemary roasted garlic bread. Crusty and golden, with some nice blisters. We ate that with my dad’s spaghetti sauce, that’s what we always called it. Meat sauce with garlic and onions and red and green bells peppers, I left out the canned mushrooms, because I do

Shelter Catstravaganza!

Hi everyone,

Look at all her other shots and then look at the ones being discussed. Yes, there are shots from the front and side, that’s how people usually have their picture taken. But these were specifically done in the front view and side view style and poses used in “Before and After” shots for people shilling whatever shitty

Lizzo’s body is 100% her own to do what she pleases, but shouldn’t she take any accountability for advocating sponsored, dangerous, pseudoscientific nonsense on her considerable platform?

Person recovering from severely disordered eating here, and her posts just made me so...sad. I am so thankful I’m at a point mentally where I can see diet culture in this form and feel sadness, rather than apprehension, or that temptation to dive back into disordered eating for the “control” and “results.” Your

I didn't realize it was sponsored, but thanks for the condescension.

That’s the thing. She has been doing that. She shares a lot of stuff about working out, eating vegan, etc. She’s been doing good things for herself all along.

She could have just done the juice cleanse and not posted about it

Yeah, that’s really what got me. I love watching her work-out videos and vegan food posts, basically about loving your body and being good to it and “fat people can enjoy moving their body too”

As I’ve said repeatedly on the Messing article: People reacting critically to something a celebrity puts on social media isn’t “being shitty”. Social media exists for interaction, so if someone can’t handle that, they should just put stuff on their own blog or website.

Her body is her own, but her social media is social. I don't get the current trend of celebrities putting stuff on Twitter or TikTok and being shocked that people reacted. If you don't want comments, just put it on your website?

Lizzo does not owe it to her supporters or anyone else to embody their projections of who she should be, or how she should behave, solely because of her fatness. Just because Lizzo is in the public eye does not mean that her body and the choices she makes about it are public domain.

Right. This is the point that confuses me the most out of Lizzo’s posts re: smoothie diet. To be clear, I still follow her, listen to her music, and did not comment on her IG account or DM her. I have not gone after her, but I have tried to have some conversations in the comments of a few different IG accounts, but

Maybe she shouldn’t be hawking bullshit? Pretty easy to see why people are calling her out.

It also followed all the steps of every other celeb doing “collaborations” with detoxes/skinny teas/etc. The before and after pics and the descriptions all felt by the numbers.

This is true. Whether it is diet, exercise, or a combination of both - this can be a great way to reset. I just would not do a ‘cleanse’.  Also, it doesn’t sound like she did anything too extreme. She was still eating solid food. Alkaline water is b.s., but it doesn’t harm you.

She can do whatever she wants, but I, like thousands of other people who follow her, was shocked at her post. It was bizarre to see someone like her suddenly posting videos of herself from the front and the side compared with videos from 10 days earlier. Then she tagged a “health expert” in the post and thanked her
