I'm always happy to see any former child actor who's grown up to be well adjusted and not be screwed over by an exploitative system.

Domestic violence is one of the only crimes - I can think of - where the victim has to prove their case in a completely irrefutable manner before believe is even considered a possibility. It doesn't help when you combine an insular community like Hollywood with the constant placing of art as more important than…
He mentioned in an interview that he also runs a Somali restaurant in LA, so I hope that does well and he can balance that with some steady acting work because he deserves a hell of a lot more than what Hollywood seems willing to give.
I'll read/listen to basically anything with West & Gay, but their words on the intersections of feminism and fatness are particularly fascinating. I'm glad there's more focus on it because I'm still dismayed by the number of ostensibly feminist writers and publications pushing the "But it encourages obesity" falsehood…
The Black Tapes podcast has been spotty lately - lots of loose ends to tie up and less focus on an episodic structure - but I'm enjoying the focus on Alex's possible mental disintegration and the paranoia it's brought out in her. The most recent episode featured a suitably creepy audio diary from a mental hospital,…
Horrible news. I truly loved him in the criminally underrated Fright Night remake.
Allow me to be the only person alive who's still hoping for Ron Moore to get a 3rd season of Carnivale off the ground.
I love Anne Helen Petersen's work. She has some of the best insight into the intersections of the entertainment industry and celebrity gossip.
Another day, another white Jesus.
A reminder that not only is built in boob armour creepy and sexist, it's dangerously ineffective.

The actors are also way too old for their roles. I get the appeal of having the original cast there, especially for the die hard fanbase, but it's hard to buy the wide-eyed bohemian youths dancing on the tables when they're all clearly in their mid 30s.
It's definitely a relic of its time. In terms of the definitive play of the AIDS era, I feel Angels in America is far superior, and even in terms of Jonathan Larson shows, Tick, Tick… Boom, while suffering from similar problems to Rent, is a much better show.
The Bitch Sesh podcast on Earwolf.
Mostly romance novels - it's what I turn to when I'm feeling down and unemployment tends to lead to that emotion - but I'm now on The Improbability of Love by Hannah Rothschild. It made the shortlist for the Women's Prize for Fiction and I'm an absolute sucker for anything set in the modern art world.
My favourite DDL as Lincoln story is that he used to stay in character on-set and ask Jared Harris questions about Mad Men.
I'm still laughing over his Juggalo Joker having "damaged" tattooed on his forehead. Is that a reminder to Leto in case he forgets who he's playing or a helpful cue for us dummies?
I'm glad Lifetime are getting some credit for the work they do, and for actually employing women to tell stories by and for women. Romance novels face the same levels of derision while it being a billion dollar a year industry that dominates publishing is conveniently ignored.
I've heard the rumour that these stunts are just fabricated for some cheap PR but it says a lot about that marketing department when they think "Yeah, let's tell everyone you sent used anal beads and condoms to your co-workers" would be seen as anything other than sexual harassment.
I thought this was really interesting. Between this & Bitch Fest on Earwolf, I've found a lot of fascinating entertainment in the analysis of reality TV & the Real Housewives. Pop Culture Happy Hour had a mini episode recently on the Real Housewives of Potomac that went into some intriguing detail on the show's race…
It'll take some beating to surpass his Entourage review, where he said The Human Centipede had better gender politics in comparison.
