I’m saying Sony is a positive because they’re giving Yu Suzuki money to make the game. You’re saying Sony being a backer is a negative because of what happened with Drive Club.

Sony isn’t developing Shenmue, Drive Club was made up of a completely different company and set of people...you’re not really bringing up any relevant info here.
You used the word vaporware which is typically a word used to describe titles that will never see the light of day, but your post only focuses on delays.
Most Kickstarters are created with the intention of receiving your money, you’re on point there.
Oh hey don’t stop there, we’d love to hear your reasoning for why this will be vaporware.
I think there’s a chance that the HD ports do happen before Shenmue III releases, but I agree, it’s a shame they didn’t get them out before and/or during the Kickstarter. The rights for I and II still sit with Sega, who I really think would want a piece of the pie after seeing all the hype this game is getting right…
All I can do is try.
Before anyone says anything about how it looks, this was probably whipped up in a week’s time. It’s just a concept video, please don’t read into how great it looks, take it for what it is.
I’m not sure if you posted this sarcastically, but I love this scene.
If only all of us were judged by the dumb shit we do while we’re drunk at parties.
Ron, if we can, let’s address the elephant in the room. Disney now owns the rights to the Monkey Island series...have you had any discussions with them about possibly continuing the story? Do you actually have any desire to make another Monkey Island? I find it interesting that Disney owns the rights to this series…

Pretty sure Adam Sandler puts just about as much effort into his movies as he does his wardrobe.
Shenmue II is very fast paced compared to I. If you found the docks tedious it does pick up after that.
I honestly think you missed the point of the game. The point of the games story kind of WAS to drag out (in a way). It was about immersing yourself in the day to day life of this town in Japan. The town did not revolve around you...every NPC in Yokosuka had their own schedule and lived in their own place! They didn’t…
Yes. NullDC works very well.
I may be biased, but I think 1 and 2 still hold up pretty well today considering their age. I encourage all who are curious about this series to give it a shot!
You got 2 years to get caught up man! Shenmue 2 is worth it!
