Patrick,

Really? REALLY? Are we so self-centered that we have to bitch about something so insignificant? Dear God, come on folks. I mean, yeah, I get it, maybe it was MEGA DRIVE everywhere except the USA. Guess what? Lifehacker is based in the USA, so relax.

I'm sorry, my mistake. MacPorts isn't the one I had so many issues with. Fink is. MacPorts, has however, broken my Xcode installation before on OS X, forcing me to totally reinstall it. That, and MacPorts seems to leave much to be desired in user-friendliness. Yeah, Homebrew leaves room for improvement in multi-user

I was JUST about to mention that. Yeah, apt-get is Debian-specific. Then again, Debian seems to be one of the "big two" Linux distros found on "enterprise" systems; the other being something Red-hat Based like Fedora or CentOS.

I blatantly refuse to tip just because it's polite. If one chooses to wait tables, they've chosen to accept the pay rate, no matter how lousy it is.

It matters to some folks - and THAT is all that really matters.

Technically, not even a warrant can force you to give up encrypted data or provide the passphrase. Only a judge can legally order you to provide a plaintext copy of the data in question, and even then, the order must be rather specific as to what data you must hand over. On the flip side, police will always tell you

If I were a betting man, I'd bet the Feds are involved in this. Either they've broken TrueCrypt and the devs are trying to move people from it without admitting the fault, or they've taken over the project and are trying to force people to move to an alternative which they already have a good grasp on.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet it's likely because the recording function is busted in Mavericks and either the folks who bought it didn't read that or they didn't figure out it was actually busted in 10.9 till it was too late. Just my guess. *Most* apps that get featured here on Lifehacker are usually pretty good.

According to the post above (granted, it may have been updated since you posted this comment), recording is broken in Mavericks.

You're getting married.…you're nuts. :p

It depends on the smile. There are some people that when you see a photo of them smiling, you can easily tell it is a fake smile. If they're smiling for the sole purpose of having a smile on their face in the picture, it does tend to raise a flag to me as well, not that they're psycho, but it does make me look at them

You can always get an old bottle from a friend or relative too. Just ask them to scratch the label off for privacy reasons before they give it to you. Usually less awkward when you throw in that you want the label or whatever removed. Otherwise you may seem like a creeper who wants to know what they're getting high

Ok fine, I won't say anything else to you, pissant.

I, for one, am excited for this update. In fact, I'm downloading it right now. I'll trust Firefox over Chrome any day.

I still love me some nano.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

You do, it's called sex LOL

Forget all the lousy suggestions of password managers here. Just get Dashlane and you'll be set for life.

Absolute bullshit.
