A Korean rhythm game series called DJ Max uses these exact buttons. It’s got a 4 button mode with left, up, triangle, and circle. It’s also got a 6 button mode that includes right and square. Then there’s 8 button mode, which adds L1 and R1. It gets insanely difficult, but the song variety is superb.
