I have an uncle who is schizophrenic. In the mid 90s, he was arrested for attacking a repo man with a cricket bat. He left that poor man with serious, life changing injuries. My grandparents were asked to write a letter to the judge to help his defense and they wrestled with what to write.

Because EMAILS! VINCE FOSTER! GOLDMAN SACHS!

I fucking hate the way that the “white girl” meme has morphed from a tool for women of color to talk about white women’s complicity in white supremacist systems into a way for people to spew gross misogyny under the guise of calling out racial privilege.

If he makes an eloquent inspiring speech after the DC primary is called on Tuesday night in which he ultimately concedes to Clinton but also talks about how his supporters can continue to support progressive causes and work within the democratic party (not against it) then he will have done a wonderful thing.

Ultimately, I voted for Hillary, but I love Bernie and I love what he did for this primary and country. I’ve begrudged him almost nothing in terms of “it’s probably not going to happen but that’s not the point”... But this is pushing my limits.

I’m just going on Saturday because I can’t afford to stay in the hotel or pay for the parties. I’ll be the six foot tall bald guy holding this sign (I painted it myself):

YES. Let’s adopt the British system. It’s what, a month or two? With a set limit for campaign spending. Let’s do that. Please!

My Euro name is literally two of the easiest imaginable names smooshed together and some people just can’t deal. They shorten it by half without asking, and when I express my preference that they use my actual name, they look disappointed, like those two extra syllables just aren’t worth the effort.

Piracy doesn’t account for that.

For reals. There were plenty of men who like Ann Coulter or Michelle Bachman too.

I used to comment regularly on Jezebel for years (under a different name) and stopped because of the feeling the author describes when someone she assumed would be an ally made her feel unwelcome.
