    Howdy. I don't have my panels set up in a way that they prevent noise leaking out due to the location of the room in my apartment. However, anecdotically, I can barely hear music that is playing (loudly) inside the room when I have the door closed. So I imagine it would work pretty well for what you are talking about.

    Hey David, sorry for the late reply, I didn't see this notification. Anyway, yes, it works great. I used up all the roxul to create about 10 panels. With thicker furring strips they have a really nice, flat surface. Sound absorption is great as well, it's made a big difference. Thanks for your original article!

    I realize this thread is a bit old, but, I did this project this weekend and I figured I would share some tips since I would guess this page still gets quite a bit of traffic.
