I always liked Darby O’Gill, despite it’s quirkiness. And Peter Jackson reportedly did a lot of research into it, as he used many of the same practical camera effects to show height differences in the Lord of the Rings trilogy rather than resorting to CGI for everything.

Good title. Maybe you can get Johnny Whitaker from A Talking Cat!?! to co-star.

Yeah, at first when I read the headline I was irritated at what sounded like a totally innocent flash of the well-known ‘OK’ symbol (something I might have done myself a year or two ago without thinking twice), but the picture clearly shows his odd hand positioning - as if he were trying to do it in such a way that it

Yeah, that would be redundant - you only need to hear it once, then your brain automatically puts it in a 24/7 loop like it was hacked by a virus.

Probably preaching to the choir here, but speaking of King adaptations you really owe it to yourself to watch the original Salem’s Lot miniseries that originally ran on (CBS?) in the 70's with David Soul, James Mason and Lance Kerwin, if you haven’t already. Scary as hell for a network miniseries from that timeframe. I

Glad to hear that, thanks for setting the record straight.

Agreed. I too thought she was handling it well, but the phrase “a fair shot” was at best a poor choice of words, and at worst a total misunderstanding of what she did wrong.

I agree - that “joke” always sticks out like a sore thumb, and is a real eye-roller. It’s not the only example though, there are plenty of “Don’t forget, we’re in the 80's!” lines clunkily sprinkled throughout.

Ringo never really pushed to get cuts on their albums like George did, and hadn’t written much (if anything) by that point. This article also leaves out that John mentioned the 2 tracks for Ringo were“if he wants them”, implying he might not.

Yes, because Colonel Sanders and Sex are virtually synonymous. I’m sure somewhere he is spinning in his grave, rotisserie-style.

Everyone in Washington is playing the Plame game.

I’m probably in the minority here but she seems quite charming to me, if a bit spacey. Or maybe stoned, hard to tell.

The whole “secret crush” feature sounds like the 21st century equivalent of passing notes during 4th period English.

Oh I agree that the TV movie did have it’s moments (the deserted airport scene was creepy), but overall it was a disappointment for me.

It’s a shame too, because I loved reading The Langoliers and was really happy they made a miniseries version. But then I watched it.

This may sound like a backhanded compliment, but she was amazingly believable being stoned in Eternal Sunshine.

Ethel Merman: What? I’m on a cruise - it should be “No Time To Diet”! Amirite, Gopher?

[canned laughter]

Actually they make him the manager, but then don’t really know what to do with his character after that.

I’ve often thought/wished for the same thing, but of course it’s a virtual no-win scenario for them; I bet there would be far more people bashing it than celebrating it, no matter how well it came off in reality. Besides, I’m not sure they want it to happen nearly as much as the fans do (or think they do).
