Within the rubric you propose (which I agree with), I think “feminism” serves the purpose of an underdog narrative. It’s not that Whedon was a particularly strong feminist in his personal life or beliefs - certainly not in his professional behavior. But rather his approach to his craft demanded an underdog element and

I was an absolute stan for years. Right up until his ex-wife wrote that essay, I was a GIGANTIC fan. Much like Louis CK, it’s the ones who know how to hide in plain sight that hurt the most.

Dance...Dance...Revolution!

Hey so the main writer on this series, Alexander Woo, is Chinese American.  That should be acknowledged somewhere in this article.  The question should be why can’t Woo do this alone w/out these white guys.

It’s been pretty priceless watching Ben Shapiro self own by claiming his wife has never had a WAP.

Imagine telling on yourself this hard by thinking a woman with a wet pussy has a medical condition.

Dunno if Jonathan Swan will “come home” since he recently married fellow journalist Betsy Woodruff, who is American.

Such a good point. So much of what Trump says is nonsense, and reporters do not usually have the opportunity to ask follow-up questions.

Even better, he was reasonably successful in establishing parameters, which neutralized some of Trump’s usual interview tactics.

He was just interviewed on CNN.  He bent over backward to not appear antagonistic to the President.  I don’t know what his personal feelings are, but he does a good job of staying professional and reasonably neutral, while pointing out the flaws in Trump’s logic.  A fine line, and he handles it well.

I have to commend Jonathan Swan for how well he handled this. I watched it last night; I could not stomach all of it, but I did get through most of it.

Shoot, thanks. I'll dismiss.

I find Full Frontal with Sam B and Patriot Act to be the shows that put the most light on issues we might not otherwise hear about, and it’s probably a direct result of the fact that they have voices in the writers rooms that are underrepresented elsewhere.

Agreed, especially since Joe thinks he’s doing these things for the benefit of the women he “loves.”  His “oh shit” moment at the end of season 2 is incredibly satisfying.

Stewart explained that The Daily Show had a blind hiring policy, which at the time producers thought meant no one could accuse them of being racist or sexist.

I loved it in its heyday and Jon Stewart revolutionized the gig, but honestly, a lot of his work hasn’t held up. I watched an old clip about police killings the other day and it was pretty painful to see how flippant Stewart was with the material. Don’t get me wrong, I give him endless credit for bringing serious

Heads up, that’s a troll.

Don’t feed the troll.

She didn’t need to do any of this. She could have just kept quiet in whatever Scottish castle she lives in surrounded by her billions. For the past few years she seems to have transformed into a literary kooky aunt sharing critical information about the Harry Potter world that borders on bad fan fiction that like, I
