I’m OK with the microbes... but the chemicalzzz.... they’re everywhere!!! Your drinking water is 100% chemicals

The research is still ongoing, but current wisdom suggests neither is the demon they’ve been made out to be in the past.

It’ll be nice to name individual devices, so they don’t all wake at the same time.

Fair enough, or something like ‘veggies can benefit from animal fats, too’

This. I think this is a good attitude. Just like teaching your kids to have safe sex doesn’t mean helping them get a hook up.

the best vegetable dishes are the ones that stand on their own, especially when you’re trying to feed it to self-professed “carnivores”; they never buy into “it’s just as good, but I made it with veggies!”

animal fat is not less or more healthy than plant fat, and is economical and environmentally friendly in a society that just disposes of the “undesirable” parts of the animal

I think next Thanksgiving I’ll make turkey fat mayo for leftover-turkey sandwiches.

I also am a morning person. Granted I have to be to work at 6.30a, but I don’t have to get up at 5a, but I like to have time to make coffee, watch the news, maybe do a little laundry or unload the dishwasher.

Did some quick math, I only have to save half of my income for the next 10 years to meet the 40yo mark. Oh wait, that’s pre-tax, and I still have 15k student loans to pay off in the meantime...

Yes, but when making one recommendation over another, sometimes it’s nice to say that the CDC recommends action A over action B because action A is evidence-based, and action B is hearsay bullshit.

I think if I ever have kids, screen time will be a tough issue. I have always read a lot, but it’s shifted from the paperback fiction of my youth to the tons of informational and educational texts I consume over the internet.
