Did you read where cash assistance is capped at 60 months (5 years) for your entire life? Do you know how hard it is and how long you have to wait to get assistance with housing?

And you have stats to back that up? I was a caseworker for several years with Medicaid and food stamps. Up to 2011. The majority if people that got benefits were not playing the system or 'entitlement' crowd. There are plenty, don't get me wrong, but it's far from the majority.

Agreed as well, I have seen plenty of people get on benefits for a bit and then get off of them the minute a job popped up. The purpose of such benefits is to intervene for people get to the starving and homeless stage as in a first world country such things are seens as "unseemly."
