For sure, defense is very game and matchup dependent. A great defense can be hamstrung by turnovers and/or special teams. The Chargers aren’t a great defense but yesterday’s performance was pretty good given the circumstances.

It’s “open” but it’s also a bucket of crabs. Every team in the division can beat every other team this year, and everyone but the Chargers has a winning record. None of them is a Super Bowl favorite but each of them in dangerous on any given day. That’s quite a gauntlet to overcome at this point.

If only they had a weak division. The article is definitely wrong about that.

If decent is enough to win, I’ll take decent.

Not at all. But for all your fire, how do you fix it? Amending the Constitution is an incredibly difficult process at this point. What do you propose that will actually affect change?

Oh I was very intentionally trying to be pedantic. The idea of building a defense around any one player is usually fool’s gold, and if you do it better be either a lockdown corner or, more likely, a dominant pass rusher. You certainly shouldn’t try to build an entire team around one.

The narrative seems to be that he hurt his hamstring because he wasn’t in training camp, and therefore not in football shape. Whether that’s true or not can’t really be proven.

They gave up 23, as 7 came from a sack strip fumble TD. That’s on the road, against the #1 overall and #1 scoring offense in the league.

I’m pretty sure he’ll move to LA with the team.

Seau and Watt don’t play the same position. As great as Seau was, a dominant DL is far more valuable in today’s game than a dominant ILB.

Except you didn’t. You went in circles and ultimately provided nothing of value to the conversation.

Whoa whoa, pump your breaks. Herman is way too forward thinking for Notre Dame. He likes his teams to score points.

Ya, it takes a real wimp to play a sport that’s statistically proven to take years off your life.

So it’s really just a popularity contest, which is what I said originally.

Cool.

She does do this and had done it often. Of course, she then gets criticized for pandering. Heads I win, tails you lose.

Some people have said they were shocking, so you’re wrong on that.

If only. Maybe they ought to try rigging some midterms.

I see very little smoke, and no gun. These are all standard political practices.

I’ve worn one as a gentile guest at such functions. I certainly wouldn’t wear one on a random camping trip.
