Agreed. In times past Audi and BMW have offered high performance wagons that found ready acceptance. Perhaps a VW R-Wagon would introduce more competition than Audi is willing to accept?  The fact is that space inefficient SUV’s are not substitutes for wagons.

How many bad Tylenol’s does it take to change the behavior of millions? How many smoking scooters does it take to change the behavior of Californians? Sabotage would appear to be far more efficient than destruction.

Destroying scooters doesn’t impede potential users other than denying the use of a scooter. If however they something to make the lithium battery start smoking to the extent that the scooters were seen as unsafe things would be far different. It didn’t take too many bad Tylenol’s to change the behavior of millions

First question: how many cargos are dangerous or high value? Bet they will have humans in the cab. Second question: will human drivers be automatically targeted because autonomous driven cargos are carrying safe and cheap cargos?  Being safe and cheap does that  mean some junior high miscreants armed with shopping

Thanks to many of the commentators, it has saved me a bunch of angry one fingered typing.

Autonomous driving driving technology now is similar to the early days of ballistic vests which were almost bulletproof. If you depend on them you die.

Owning anything German beyond the factory warranty is suicidal unless you can do normal maintenance including shocks, bushings and brakes. German automatic transmissions are a wild card. They are often difficult if not impossible for independents to repair and the cost of a factory rebuild far too quickly can be

If someone is leasing a car they are rarely in a position to dispute what the projected value would be. I fully expect my wife’s 2011 6M Cayenne will attract a premium but that is with me selling it privately. Most folk who are getting a new car have little appetite to debate trade in values especially with a Used Car

Why does BMW screw buyers by offering manual transmissions “at no extra charge” when in times before automatics were several thousand dollars more?  Porsche offers Tiptronic transmissions at a hefty extra charge as they should. On leased cars manuals are immediately dinged as they project that manual will be worth

I’ve got the feeling that even when Honda’s Magicseat patent expires (soon) Toyota would be loath to use it. How else can you put a 55” TV (in the box) in the back seat? Bystanders at Costco thought I was a magician.

Go find my ‘85 CRX Si my ex sold with black and white Recaro B/W Logos, lumbar support, 15” BBS, 001R Yoko’s, adjustable Tokico shocks and Mugen exhaust.

Simca 1204’s without a/c had the spare in the engine compartment. I bought a Pinto instead, sniff.

Where is the bookmark validater? If there was an app that would validate the good ones and eliminate the rest I’d be far ahead. Why doesn’t Google keep the date saved for bookmarks? I bet most bookmarks older than 10 years have little value. Many of the bookmark managers lose their way with big collections and

If taxed vehicles on their weight and horsepower much of this discussion would be rendered moot. As it is diving large truck can deliver tax credits. The first comment would be vehemently opposed by the big 3. Who do you think helped pass the following comment? Ignorant proposals by those who fail study the history

I expect that anything that can be drastically improved with a software revision can be drastically diminished with a newly discovered software bug or possibly a new update might undermine the improvements this update provided. There is a good reason why NASA doesn’t put lives at risk until the hardware and software

“The Oil Industry Is Finally Affected...” Don’t you think that is needlessly dramatic? First of all the oil industry is largely owned by the government so any effects have no impact to the public or investors. Secondly the change of sales of cars today has little impact on the sales of petrol today. Lastly, the

Current aircraft move large chunks of weight bearing material (flaps) in complicated paths with few problems. Next time you are on a plane before landing watch the flaps extend and droop down. This movement under considerable load is no easy task. Flipping the wing tip is comparatively simple. They do have more work

Evidently John Travolta is coming for dinner and his 727 doesn’t land on a cow pasture.

You don’t need no stinking engines. You need 6 working SHO Taurus’s. Now you have something. Hopefully this doesn’t garner any foolish questions. Hint: it had been done before and it works.

While I’m sure these guys had fun I expect that the paths they ran on were not a choice but the only way to get through. This often happens on seaside or lakeside routes where a really small 2 lane road splits into 2 one way paths outside of town only to rejoin on the other side. Just got back from Bellagio where the
