I said much the same thing to my wife: "The other mole has to be the kid." "How do you know?" "Because if this plotline continues into next season they can't explain him being a foot taller, so they have to kill him now."

It's also why a bunch of the jokes don't work in the Police Squad sequel films—there were too many instances where Drebin would say something peculiar, and the person on the receiving end would do the double-take.

Well, yeah. But that's the way it was framed for Toby in the bar. The guy (who wasn't minimum wage) expected it to be tough to pay for his kid's school, but didn't expect it to be quite that tough. He was looking for a way to make it just a little bit (and here is where he holds his thumb and forefinger about a

I doubt we're ever gonna get nudity from Jessica, since she's forever sixteen or so. So I've pretty much resigned myself to that one.

Did you think it just happened?

At this point it's crossed my mind that perhaps they're more than friends. I'm willing to bet that they're siblings.

Last season did the same thing, but if I recall correctly, there were several flashbacks that took place during episodes we'd seen, but which we hadn't actually viewed at the time. So we had a little bit of "Oh, that happened during thus-and-such episode—wait, I don't remember that happening when I saw it then…"

I'm (barely) inside the coveted demographic, and I rather enjoyed this show. I wasn't too thrilled when they moved away from the original shoe store conceit, and then retconned it into a neighborhood gentrification thing. In fact, near the season's end it looked as though they were starting to move back toward that.

Well, no one who speaks German could be an evil man.

Les Miserables and Chess post-date the book, but there are certainly plenty of other examples in the thread that make it plausible.

To be fair, Julia wasn't cooking; she was typing on her laptop while Frank cooked.

I'm sure it occurred to someone, but it probably sounds a little too close to Toby Ziegler's line "I don't understand; did you trip over something?" from the "Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc" episode of The West Wing, when Sam confesses to "accidentally" sleeping with a prostitute.

Worse yet, the actors would just STAND there looking at each other and waiting for it to die down, and then they'd repeat the line they'd started to say before the audience hollering started. Compare that with "Seinfeld"; the audience would react to Kramer's entrance but he'd just plow on through and let the audience

Yeah, it was singing the line that had me saying, "Wait a minute—" but it occurred to me that maybe he's singing A line from the top of his head that happens to scan nicely, not necessarily THE line that was actually written.
