In b4 Torchinsky starts weeping.

Does this count?

My eyes keep telling me those are Volk TE37's!

The Saab 9000 is quite possibly the greatest sedan of the 90's. It is amazing.

That said, skip the 1993 Aero. It has a pain-in-the-ass-to-defeat Traction Control. 1994 on did not have this problem. If you're going for a CS or CSE this shouldn't matter. I miss my 94 Aero. Never should've sold it. Bonus: No MAF=loud ass

the b205 with b204 pistons and pauter b205 rods is good for 8500rpm. top end needs big cams to make use of the expanded top end, the stiffer volvo valve springs, and the 20mhz ecu.

For the most part this list is crap. Half of these aren't even sleepers. B5 S4? $$$ maintenance. SRT-4? Not at all a sleeper. Maxima? I've owned one, not quick at all (at least mine wasn't). Mazdaspeed 6? Don't those just fall apart?

Ummmm...the Saab should be at the top. You wouldn't have the Neon, Cobalt, Volvo, etc., etc., if Saab didn't put a turbo in the original 99.

Saabs were an under appreciated brand. Even base models had decent power and they almost always had turbos for easy tuning. The 204 engine models that came before mine were really overbuilt. The 205 that's in my car was lightened for fuel efficiency, but is still good for something like 300 horsepower (and more torque

I had no idea the saabs were built so strong

Try close to 10-20k for that ls swap... search around on forums, swapping a motor costs a lot more than just the motor.

If you want the overbuilt bottom end, you want the ng900 or the 93-98 9000. Newer than that and you're both spending a lot more money, and getting a bottom end that can't handle more than 300whp. If you want super high revs, you get the ng900, if you want more displacement and better daily driveability, you get

I approve of this wholeheartedly.

How the hell is the Saab not higher?

This list is spot on. Except I might have put the SAAB slightly higher up in the list, not dead last?

While the 9000 is probably my favorite model, for $10,000 or less you can get pretty much ANY model Saab (except the NG9-5), and they will be faster/safer than the 9000, while still wearing that "sleeper" disguise.

I think the term "sleeper" was lost entirely with this one.

I love the odd-ball Swedish monsters!!!
