Staying on the power in the absence of all traction isn’t safe. I’m not aware of any cruise control system which lifts the throttle in response to traction control.

The actual problem is someone pressing the cruise control button in snow in the first place.
Ok let’s get something out of the way: robotic 3D scanning is my job & this is example of a vehicle lacking any such technology being operated contrary to the way we’re supposed to drive normal vehicles.
I’ve said this before here & I’ll say it again, using even ordinary cruise control in the snow is a potentially lethal mistake.
Regulate yourself PLEASE.
You posted my car, minus the wheels I suppose. They’re not exactly cheap to keep around but the highway MPG for the fun of the thing is pretty hard to match.
How is it honesty we’re discussing when his company knowingly sold defective vehichles for the same prices as later “more refined” versions of the same thing?
I can live with this, as much as we worry about them the CVTs feel happy enough approximating a crawler ratio in my experience. As long as turbo lag is by & large gone in comparison to my friend’s old XT, this thing is a winner even with a crazy price tag where I’m concerned.
Having had my eye on a BMW for quite some time, I can only think of one name for that future car now. It’s this human aspect that made them special machines, without someone like her we would probably not have seen quite a few.
I really fail to see any issue with the juice behind that Legacy. I say use the paddles more & supercharge it if it’s a 2011 with the 5eat automatic. It could also be livened up with an exhaust.
I work (sometimes) on lidar & drive an analog Volvo.
I’m aware it’s got a more aggresive feel having ridden in a friend’s 430xi but it’s closer to a DCT than the honest feedback provided by manual bimmers. I would love to try a 1 series sometime soon.
70 grand for a 3 series without a transmission option. While I’ve liked the maligned ZF boxes in the E46, I’m well aware that manual & automatic 3 models are vastly different cars. I’ve also driven a friend’s manual e30 & e46 - there is no valid comparison between those in my mind.
Hot take: the EA888 turbo in this thing is a distraction. This is a Tesla fighter waiting to happen.
That doesn’t mean they can rationally afford to scale anything up, that’s where the deposits were going.
I saw one in person 2 days ago, this car looks the business in white. It needs a bright color to show the window line.
I’m OK with this as a V50 replacement. I can wait.
It’s difficult to put into words how much I learned from her. I’m raising a glass or three later. :(

Counterpoint - this is vastly more capable than any Tesla. This car has paint & the verifiable build quality of a Versa.
