North American sales are $24 million as of March 30th. Plus $45 million internationally. It is the #1 film in the UK. Plus it has risen every week since it's release. The movie is doing fantastic.

That was exactly my take too.
Uhmmmm, no. That makes absolutely ZERO legal sense. Doris Grau did not create the character, she merely voiced it.
The Goldbergs has gotten to be a pretty decent show, has steadily improved as the season goes along which is very encouraging. Unfortunately it is uncool to say that so no critics will be willing to give it a real chance for a while.
There are plenty of conservative religious blacks throughout the world (obviously most notably African). However the southern United States black experience/culture is quite different from those in Europe or Africa. Perry's work speaks specifically to the SOUTHERN, black and religious.
So did I and it was better than any of the Tyler Perry movies I've seen (which is I think 3 if you don't count Alex Cross which was actually worse than any of them).
That is totally unfair. Yahoo Serious was never guilty of sanctimonious preachiness.
Because his audience is very specific in America (Southern, black and religious conservative) and that audience doesn't exist anywhere else in the world. There are large portions of America where his movies never show up in theaters.
I really don't think many white people 'support' Tyler Perry, white guilt or not. Southern, church-going blacks are his core constituency
I wouldn't say the State was hacky but it was extremely inconsistent. THey had some great sketches but all the casts best work was in future projects. KITH was consistently great though and significantly more mature and influential.
Am I the only one who feels that 'Kids In The Hall' was kind of disrespected in this piece?
I agree with you. If anyone is a jerk and condescending to anyone in the relationship it is Leonard towards Penny. That is why I was glad to see him buy her a car.
Am I the only Anderson fan who thinks Tenenbaum's is vastly overrated? Hackman was the only thing I really liked about it.
Maggie Lawson deserves better. Michelle Trachtenberg…not so much.
It is hard to argue with you there. That was just an absolutely terrible moment in an otherwise solid season. They could have just made her drunk or something and they thought they got a divorce but the paper work didn't go through. ANything but the moronic "I didn't know it was real". In fact, of all the characters…
I have some real problems with how dumb Penny will suddenly be (Las Vegas adding being the best example) but I think they had her acknowledge that she knew scenes got cut all the time but that she was so upset because she feared this was sort of a last chance. Maybe I imagined it though because they do seem to…
yes
It doesn't matter if he was 'right'.
How could the whole scene be a tribute but the orgasm line be a "straight up steal"? And Crystal never gave a line at the end that he faked laughing. That in fact was an added bit by BBT to punctuate the homage.
I agree the episode was weak but the Bernadette scene was clearly an homage and not a 'rip-off'. The camera angles, pacing, everything was a tribute to the Harry/Sally scene, punctuated with the orgasm line at the end. There is a big difference between homage and stealing.
