I actually use this excuse a lot. In reality I’m fucking lazy and would be a terrible parent but for some reason that’s not a valid excuse so I have to pretend I care about future generations

That’s super encouraging, thank you! When I was fresh out of college and underemployed (and super depressed) after the financial crisis, my former primary care doctor gave me this pep talk about how she started med school at 38 and it’s never too late. It was so helpful, and I still think of it.
