This is so tacky and embarrassing.

Yeah, November is a long, long wait - and knowing how release date promises go, November probably means 'late november.'

no mention anywhere of whether airplay will support non-apple routers. Currently it only works with Airport-branded basestations...

@Sean Harrington: I'm very close to ditiching cable in favor of my first-gen appleTV. This could very well push me over the edge. Between netflix and relatively cheap 'rental' options, cable doesn't seem to offer very much.

Really hope they do a Mac version again. (Ooh or an ipad version of one of the older releases...)

Is he still alive?

All I can say is that my psp and DS have been gathering dust since I installed my first iphone game. Sure the dedicated platforms have better games, but the iPhone has plenty of excellent options in one great little device. I'll never go back to carrying a second machine just for games.

Kinda like a super-expensive, giant, extra-slow, dual-screen ipad? Yuck.

Ugh, the browsing experience on the slate is appalling - pages don't scale properly, scrolling and zooming look awful, and the keyboard doesn't seem to work very well. Sure it loads some things quickly (though it looks to me like they might be running the iPad on 3G rather than wifi) but if speed comes at the expense

@. . . . Xterm11: Yeah, but I couldn't find Cory Doctorow's hot air balloon anywhere on this one.

Thing I've been confused about - what happens to apps you buy from cydia/rock if you update your firmware? Obviously they're lost in the restore process, but is there a way to get them back without buying a second time?

@phor11: Yeah my friends who live in the west/southwest have things they call 'swamp coolers' which I think more or less do the same evaporative cooling thing. They work great out there, but my understanding is that they would be pretty useless for me in the super-humid northeast.

Wouldn't this increase the humidity? Days like these, the humidity is a bigger problem than the temperature...

As layout gets further and further away from HTML and more and more into CSS, most of these tools are becoming pretty much useless. It is a lot easier just to hand-code, especially with something like Aptana, Coda, BBEdit, Espresso, TextMate, CSSEdit...

Dying for the ipad release of this
