Tremendous!
Tremendous!
I don't know what your day job is, but methinks the LAPD should hire you on full-time! Nice detective work!
I know that it must be useless now that you found the location of your ride, but the FJ Cruiser's plate number is 6CZK664.
You got a beer waiting in STL man!
you might even want the cops to check out that warehouse on the other side of the road. i suspect they might have been working there too
Dude stole the wrong VW. My 70 Beetle is out in the garage doing cartwheels right now!
I finished reading the whole thread and there's WAY too many bullshit discrepancies. What killed me is the color laser printed build sheet (from 1980) where guys who actually own Alpina's of that era show build sheets that were run through a typewriter.
Wait, Alpina are disavowing this car? I'd say that's pretty damning. The loss of original papers is something that can usually be overcome/mitigated by just requesting a letter or something from the original tuner, but if Alpina says no way, then it gets pretty damn hard to justify the price.
+1. If Alpina themselves deny that they ever built a car matching this one's description (which is a lot more damning than 'we built such a car, but it's not necessarily this one') then as far as I'm concerned this isn't really what the seller says it is. It's a sweet ride, but it's $12-15k sweet, not 30.
If this was fully documented, it'd be worth it. Since there's some contention (and those BMW Forum guys are rabid about this kind of stuff), it's a CP.
1968 VW Beetle... as I expect many of my aged peers did. More than likely without restraint ;)
Only 80,500 miles, rust-free, original equipment, Pininfarina designed '81 Alfa for $3,500?
I mustache you a question... But I will Shave it for later...
Having owned one of these in the past, I don't understand the V8 swap.. I guess I never understand them, but it diminishes the personality of lots of these cars. The I6 was a beauty of a motor, 7k redline that it would hang at all day long. I can't see this car being nearly as fun with a v8..
