It checks all the boxes; weird, cool, easy to work on, easily sourced parts, modable... NP.

As antiquated as it sounds, it looks like Fiat is moving towards a Dodge that is enthusiast based with little to no offer of pedestrian cars... You know, like Pontiac.
Bravo sir.
I did too, was really sad to see it go; I had the V6 AWD version so it was a bit of a pig off the line... could eat up freeway all day long though. Repairs were about the same as my 540i though, suffers from the same 'oh, he has a nice car, we can gouge him' problem.
I had an STS as a company car and it's far larger than the M5 (way bigger than my E39) and more of a cruiser built for comfort than for tearing up the twisties.
The M5 really looks huge (bloated) next to the CTS... it was a bit shocking.
Gotta hand it to him, cool as the other side of the pillow when his tire started pacing him off to the left.
I'd hit it.

That's exactly why he has it... It's always filled with tools and he's alway hauling stuff around in it (industrial lighting designer). And he's right, the thing is perfect; cavernous with the seats down, a ton of plastic he doesn't have to worry about destroying and has a small entertainment value with the 5-speed…
My best friend bought a Caliber... when I asked him about it, he was brutally honest. "you know me, I beat the shit out of cars, why would I buy something nice?"
I agree with you on this; why would we leave the ongoing development up to start-ups or shoestring groups that need government funds to keep the lights on... you'd think a multi-billion dollar conglomerate like VAG would be leading the way.
I love the idea of an electric vehicle as a 2nd car with a few caveats:
This was a NP at the price and picture only... although I'm sure Graverobber waxed poetic as usual ;)
He's just pandering to the city... they eat that shit up.
This is 9-times-world-champion and possible robot Sebastian Loeb in his grinning 875-horsepower, 875-kilo Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak car. I'd heard that it could make the 0-60 mph run in 1.8 seconds and the 0-149 mph run in 7.0 seconds. Now that this video popped up on Axis of Oversteer, I finally get to see that…
I'll be honest and state that I haven't listened to terrestrial radio for almost 10 years. And I haven't listened to satellite radio in 7-8 years. It's not the content, it's the % of time dedicated to ads; only catching 2-3 segments of Mike and Mike in the morning on a 45 minute commute drove me insane. Satellite…
It's a modern Mach 5 and it is fucking awesome. Tell me you don't see that now?!
Not so strange in the EMS/ER/Medical world. All towns have plans in place for mass casualty events and all the players (EMS/Hospital/Police/Fire) practice for such an event on a regular basis. With an explosion of that magnitude, even knowing nothing about the fertilizer company's staffing rotations, it's an easy…
Also came to nominate the Flex.
