“Passionate”. That’s a nice way of saying “insane”. Especially as this movie is aimed at a general audience and not specifically made for the kind of adults who get mad online about the voicing of a corporate mascot so he could probably call these people the weird losers they are and barely lose any box office.

I was just thinking yesterday how Kotaku hadn’t posted an article bashing Crish Pratt for a while. You guys really seem to have some serious beef with him.

Someday, but not anytime soon, Kotaku writers will cop to the fact that the twittersphere isn’t a majority of anything and that no one gives a shit what people say there.

The more I hear the voice the more it really does start to sound like a composite of Lou Albano and Walker Boone with a little Charles Martinet. In other words, it’s fine.

Why would he lay low when he’s doing the press circuit for the Mario movie?

Mario’s fine. I found the voice in the trailer to work well enough. This crusade is ridiculous. Meanwhile Peach sounds absolutely NOTHING like Peach, does not act at her at all either, yet, we don’t hear a thing about it from the media.

The only reason it happens is because this guy goes to church and said some bad

Eh, probably the safest way to respond to an angry contingent of folks on the internet. Also, the more previews I’ve seen, the more the voice has grown on me.

Literally all of that is just unofficial interpretations of the character and none of it is particularly consistent so it’s not like failing to adhere to a specific non-canon version of Mario is really “screwing up” the character.

What’s there to “screw up” anyway?

Lol. Wow. Imagine Rare suing Playtonic Games because Yooka-Laylee was made by the same guys who used to make Banjo for them and used concepts and art similar to their shitcanned Banjo-Threeie project.

What about attacking the tastes of Sanderson’s family? Or his fashion sense? What do they have to do with his success as a writer or an entrepreneur, and what purpose do they serve in Kehe’s narrative?

I’ve been reading your comments. If you aren’t the author of the article, you think a lot like him and want people to understand his point of view.

That’s not remotely true, and is just ignorant and rather stupid. Fantasy authors vary as much as any authors. Many fantasy writers are extremely socially and not at all “dorks”. Perhaps the majority.

Ah, I know Brandon, he is “GOOD PEOPLE”, celebrity has done nothing to him. The Wired author couldn’t even find dirt on him because Brandon likes his family, his friends and his job and doesn’t have skeletons in his closet, so the article author has to make fun of his family, friends and job, what a tool.

I find it odd the toxic fanbase that comes to mind for you both is Steven Universe, and not Rick & Morty.

This Wired article wasn’t criticism, it was a hit job. The dude basically hated Sanderson from the get go and in spite of all the evidence that he’s a nice guy decided “hey fuck this guy”

Quick correction to this part of the article: “He had reportedly been arrested for these charges and pleaded guilty to two counts in October of that same year.” He pleaded NOT guilty to the two counts. The current version makes things very confusing.

Absolutely. I guess “kill them with kindness” isn’t an option at this point but at the same time, being riled up to the point where you’re unwilling and/or unable to have a conversation with anyone with a differing opinion than you doesn’t help.

I think you may have missed out on some sarcasm in the post.

You completely misread my post, to a baffling degree. Like, I’m wondering whether you actually read and/or understood what you were reading.

FFS, what do YOU think this statement conveys:
