Jez hates the Notebook. I agree that both the main characters display manipulative, potentially abusive behaviour, but I also still think it’s a decent romantic movie, and it still makes me cry more than anything else.

This. In Canada we have moose and elk and they kill people in traffic accidents too. But you rarely, if ever, hear about a bear or big cat attack. Sometimes you hear about coyotes attacking people. In Nova Scotia a woman was killed on a trail by a coyote. You just have to be cautious.
