Standard Ebooks has a much smaller selection than other resources, but all of their books have the professional formatting and editing that you’d see in a modern eBook, whereas a lot of other free, digital classics can be kind of a pain to read.

This isn’t meant to be a law or have any effect. State legislatures do this sort of thing all the time, recognizing this or that person or thing as being great or terrible. It’s just puffery that’s meant to be appealing to constituents that like this sort of thing and forgotten by everyone else almost immediately.

I keep reading this as city names. Like “Welcome to scenic Jocasta, Washington, pop. 53,274.”
