I love Word Crimes, but the video for First World Problems just killed me. I love Tacky and Foil, too. Overall, I'm very happy with all his output this week.

I have so many that I'm sure I won't be able to remember them all. All fleeting and lame:

I must admit that I never watched Hercules, but this gif made me so happy that I just looked up the actor on IMDB. Sad that he has passed. :-(

Agree. It became untenable, plot-wise . . . I guess. But I just enjoyed Damian Lewis's performance so much, not to mention his crazy chemistry with Claire Danes. He elevated almost every scene he was in.

Yes! I enjoy the film most of all for its Southern Gothic atmosphere and overall spookiness. Great acting too, from Cate Blanchett, Keanu Reeves, and Giovanni Ribisi. Even Katie Holmes was decent. And Greg Kinnear was pretty cute at that point!

I was relieved by the [SPOILER ALERT] time jump, because from that point on his hair was fairly normal.

Oh jeez! WTH is going on there?!? I could only bear to watch three minutes. I guess he was on something . . . pretty powerful. Gah.

Well, that explains the inspiration behind Cate Blanchett's character in The Gift, a movie that I love — screenplay by Billy Bob Thornton.

House centipedes are so disgusting. I got them all the time during the summer at my place in Boston. They remind me of aliens. Like something from Men in Black. All I can think of when I see them is how they'd look if they were, say, eight feet long. And the way they'd scurry around at lightning speed. *shudder* Many

Question, albeit a little off-topic: is the type of big-game hunting Kendall Jones doing even legal? Pardon me if I'm totally ignorant here, but if these are endangered animals she's killing, surely this shouldn't be allowed to continue?

Snap. I was single for nine years, and prodding myself to try online dating was about all I could manage. Agnosticism aside, I'm thinking I'd quite literally go for joining a convent if a sight-unseen marriage was my only other option.

I like froyo that tastes like ice cream, i.e., Ben & Jerry's or the soft-serve you used to get at TCBY. But I cannot with the PinkBerry and similar places popping up everywhere like zits. Ice-cold crap in a cup that tastes like Dannon or Yoplait or some shit....barf.

Y'know, I like cupcakes. As in, good, freshly baked cupcakes. They're not all flavorless and dry! But Crumbs never appealed to me. Huge-ass, bloated cupcakes that probably sat there in the display case all day . . . I'll take Magnolia any day of the week.

My apologies for the quadruple (???!!!) post. Me having to sign in to Kinja apparently equals quadruple post, I guess.

What rock have I been under?!? Cher and Tom Cruise dated? And there are stories?? Where might I find these stories? Suddenly this is the most important thing in my life.

I felt the same way as you, but I also thought some people think a nihilistic ending as quite fitting and more realistic. But considering the way the rest of the novel went, I was like, "why go for a realistic/nihilistic ending?" I for one think a different ending for the movie could be more satisfying.

Amen re: Kanye. My friends and I were having this very discussion this weekend. What I said was that I couldn't bring myself to buy his albums despite Rolling Stone and countless other outlets rating his music five stars and extolling his brilliance every time he puts out an album. I bought College Dropout back in the
