I had friends who told racist jokes because they thought they were funny too. I stopped being friends with them. Because they were racist.

Argh I'm so fucking sick of this idea that women shouldn't be taking responsibility for their own safety because in a perfect world they wouldn't have to. Living in a fantasy world won't keep you safe! Predators are out there, and they will continue to be out there. You can't just sit around waiting for society to

I'm an awful baker. I'm a great cook, but baking is not my game. Props to people who are good at it. I can make pie and cookies and that's about it.

I am not the biggest Blake Lively fan, and I thought her idea for a life-curating company was pretentious as fuck, but I watched the video of her cooking on Vogue and that puff pastry sausage brie thing she made looked delicious. She also seemed really nice and sweet.

From what I've seen The Honest Company is doing really well. This article's attempt to belittle it is ridiculous.

Gwyneth Paltrow's role in the "Iron Man" movies is a bit more substantial than a "cameo." And Jessica Simpson's company is not some blog about "lifestyles." The woman is a genuine fashion mogul, whether you like her clothing or not.

These women are doing what I have not been able to figure out how to do yet but want - they are working multiple streams of income. Good for them. If we were talking about Ashley Judd or Christy Turlington I would have different expectations (although its none of my damn business) because there has been focus on

I'm not sure why the last 10 years of both Gwyneth Paltrow's and Reese Witherspoon's careers have been totally discounted. Both are acclaimed and steadily working actresses. Last award-winning role =/= last major role.

Not now, not ever.

Phoenix isn't over-burdened with the fastidious need for fairness or accuracy.

Is it me or does this read like a really anti-woman rant? I am not a fan of any of these actresses but I don't get the tone of this piece. And the 'facts' seem to be a bit disingenuous. Like the dates of their last major movie roles are far from accurate.

This was such a meandering way to imply that actresses above thirty have no acting careers because THEY ARE OLD, rather than them taking time off for their family or other life ambitions. But not in a nice way... In a mean, ageist, snarky way.

Dear #NotAllMen,

I would guess that RuPaul, growing up in the deep south and dealing with these issues for nearly 40 years now, is more than a little bit offended that the literal beatings he took for being gender queer are being equated with vocabulary exchanges today. I wouldn't blame him.

A world where battles are not started between friends and "family" just for the sake of promoting a show on TV. Carmen herself had to erase the use of the term on her own Twitter account. That's the irony here, Lara.

I appreciate you're speaking about your experience with the word, but you're speaking about it as if it's the only way the word is or ever has been used. That is, your experience is yours and that experience is anecdotal. It's very hard to have a reasonable conversation about topics which affect entire populations

I don't agree. And while I am not trans, I've known and worked with far too many transsexual and transvestite friends who never had an issue with this word until recently - and most still don't have an issue with it. It is, as RuPaul pointed out, a fringe set of activists out to make a name for themselves.

Nope, pretty sure Carmen has been known to use the term as flippantly as RuPaul. She also failed to speak up about her concerns about any derogatory slurs while she was a contestant on season 3. Is it now that we are only offended by terms that only exclusively apply to us? Doesn't that completely negate what she is

There's a long history of this word, and a long recent battle disputing its history. Trannyshack just changed it's name due to pressure, despite it being an 18-year-old club named for an apartment in the Haight where many genderqueers lived and identified as Trannies. Kate Bornstein (and others, like me) recall it as

I don't even like premeditated food fights.
