It's amazing how much of the cool, detective-y nuts and bolts they left out of the remake. Didn't hate the Fincher version, and I was surprised how much I liked/enjoyed Rooney in the role, but the original is superior in nearly every way (plus NOOMI!).

original was closer to the book and i prefer Noomi over Mara.

well original was better anyways

Good riddance. I liked the Swedish versions much more. I was surprised at how so many people thought the American version was better.

Why would they have access to sharp medical instruments?

I think the chances of anyone harming a doctor in the midst of delivering a baby is slim for even the most violent of individuals, don't you?

But in the cab company's defense, they are claiming Alexis had worn a lot of make up which made her look older, which is clearly a steaming crock of shit.

Pixie cuts are the best.

Omg, I sometimes wish I could pay my cat Zephyr to ignore me.

Maybe animals ignore only you? ;) I'm typing this with a lap full of affectionate cat at the moment. She's a good pet and roomie.

More like who has to TAKE the dog.

When my parents divorced, my dad threatened to go to court to sue for custody of the dog. Not me - the dog. Well, the dog WAS more attractive than my teenage self.

I am sorry but your logic is faulty with "Fact number four". That study was to test "failure to see that for which they are not looking". You are asking them to look for a pregnancy and they are not seeing it. This is the exact opposite of the study in which they did not see something that they were not asked to

I don't see a fetus. But I DO believe, even before seeing the pics, that there could absolutely be something gynecological going on and I hope that gets resolved. We all know how easily many doctors dismiss women's health concerns so I sympathize wih all you're going through.

Beth,

For what it's worth, re: doctors not being knowledgeable about the Hook Effect, I have a genetic abnormality that affects approximately 1 in 50,000 individuals. It's been researched enough that you can find information about it through a simple Google search. It affects my physical appearance, so if you know what to

Clearly she has *something* going on. Just like people with Münchausen syndrome do, indeed, have an illness, just not the one they think (or pretend) they have. However, I think Ruby's case goes beyond merely physiological symptoms of pregnancy. Notice her obsessive "research" into all the possible reasons why her

Ah, so you think she doesn't have actual appointments, she is just crashing these doctors offices? Because where I am at, you don't even get an appointment without them running your insurance. And I doubt you'd get to see an actual doctor if you just showed up.

I'm probably going to regret asking this, but how exactly are mental illness or paying for healthcare white people problems?

My best guess would be that at some point in the next month or two, when she has to change her delusions because at 7-8 months it will be obvious to even her, she'll have a "very heavy flow" and be utterly convinced for the rest of her life it was a very late miscarriage caused by all the mental anguish she was put
