The scene from the Marx Brothers' "At the Circus" where Groucho sings "Lydia the Tattooed Lady". The whole scene just comes off as one of those impromptu parties that would be fun to crash.

I've been revisiting Elvis Costello's "Mighty Like a Rose" and found my self visibly crying after hearing "I wouldn't call it unexpected No 4". Its amazing how much 25 years can change your perception of song.

The tickets were a bit ridiculously priced for his performance at the Catalyst tho.

So next is a comic book of "Davey and Goliath?"

When my daughter was a young tyke, my husband used to chase her around the living room with the cover to "Court of.." and she'd laugh and yell "Scary face man"!!. I've never been a huge fan of Fripp, but I have to thank him for that hysterical memory of King Crimson.

Good for him getting clean, but as a bass player who has made endless comments about his "abilities" as a member of rhythm section, I have to admit my thought lines went in a similar pattern. I guess that makes me a bad person, but U2 kind of annoys me after the first few albums anyways.

They're pretty thick in the liberal conclaves of California. Santa Cruz County was pretty much ground zero for the liberal outcry against mandatory vaccines in California during the 2015 debate.

Let's also remember that smallpox used to kill over 1/3rd of the people who contracted it. But if you see a person born after the early 70s, there usually don't have the tell a tale scar on their arm from the vaccine. You know why? Because regular vaccination of people throughout the world for smallpox eradicated

I have a niece who is Autistic. My sister always said that one of the first things you needed to stop obsessing about is 'what caused this'. There's alot of self guilt when your child is not perfect, and some parents shift that guilt to the medical profession and vaccines, because its a convenient scapegoat, that has

Or other peoples children die? As I stated above, there are some children, due to treatments for other medical issues, such as cancer or invasive surgeries who can't receive a vaccine at any given time. So you're going to expose some person's child, who is already got enough medical issues to start with a disease

Three points. There are places in this planet where parents will walk their children miles to get vaccines. Why? because they have seen people die of measles and similar diseases. Two, my grandmother had polio and was bedridden for most of the later part of her life. If a vaccine will prevent that, getting one is

My kids were in the right age demographic for the books, but interestingly enough never jumped on that bandwagon. My daughter, who is an avid reader, lost interest in the series after the third book. My son, who is the sci-fi fantasy fan, went from the Redwall books straight to J.R.R Tolkien, bypassing Potter

I had totally forgotten about Total Coelo! The 80s had their share of one hit wonders.

"Don't Leave Me this Way" certainly deserves a mention. Henry Davis' bass line in that song is freaking amazing and Thelma Houston's vocals are soaring, the build up to the chorus alone gives me goosebumps. She unfortunately was overshadowed by Donna Summer and Diana Ross, who dominated the female disco vocal

Girl, you thought he was a man, but he was a muffin.

I'll have to check that out. Looks like it was produced by Don Dixon as well; I should just find every album that Dixon produced in the 80s at this point.

It also won a Grammy but was beaten out of Song of the Year by…"I write the songs" by Barry Manilow. I think they got a metric ton of mileage out of their one hit wonder.

I agree with you on their first album. "Johnny Come Home" remains one of my favorite songs to come out of the 1980s

More fun facts: She was also in Easy Rider and Five Easy Pieces.
