My friend and I were house sitting for her parents and we were watching 'Salem's Lot. Her cat decided at a very dramatic moment to peer through the living room window with glowing green cat eyes. We screamed so loud that the neighbor came over. It definitely up there on the horror scale for me.

The first Godzilla movie, Japanese version was sci fi horror. (not the horrible Americanized version with Burr). I love the old Universal classics, and I have to say that the TV version of 'Salems lot was definitely horror.

Started to read "True Believer" about Noel Field. I find stories about spies like Noel Field and Kim Philby fascinating in how they could lead such double lives and be so implicitly trusted by those they betrayed,

Gin and Vodka for me. Santa Cruz used to have this great boutique gin made by Sarticious. One of my great music memories involves somehow getting box seats for Joe Jackson at Montalvo and hanging with the people in our area ordering Sarticious gin martinis and talking endlessly about great 70s and 80s music during

That usually works for me, but god help me, I'd be a happy woman if I never had to play Brad Paisley's "Long Sermon" again..

Modern country makes me cringe in so many ways. I've been in two cover bands where we've played some modern pop country. Usually I can find something to like or work with in a song, but not in this case.

That used to be our soundtrack for driving Hwy1 down south to Big Sur.

If I have to write a report or a proposal for work, Django Reinhardt is my go to for music. Its engaging enough to keep me inspired but not so much that I lose focus on what I'm supposed to be doing.

I love Adam. One of my dreams is to meet him randomly at some point in the bay area. Plus he loves Kubrick, which just scores massive points with me.

It depends on the kid though. My daughter was devouring asparagus as a toddler along with crab, but my son consisted on a limited diet until his mid-teens that didn't stretch beyond the usual kid favorites. Both have grown up to have broad culinary tastes in the end, so I guess like most things, they find their own

Working in a professional kitchen is fast, furious, full of danger and if your arms aren't scarred with burns and cuts, don't tell me you do it professionally. As I mentioned below, my mom was a professional cook and I worked with her for two summers while I was in college on the line as a prep person. There's

And I can bet they were not taught as children how to behave in public ;)

The other thing, is that if my very young child made a mess, my husband and I tried to clean up before we left. I'm still amazed when parents leave a table that looks like a food war zone from Animal House.

This happens all the time in the "craft beer" industry. Laguintas is part owned by Heineken International and is one of many breweries bought out or partially owned by the "big boys". http://www.mensjournal.com/…

The fan girl in me pretty much squealed with delight during that episode..

My mother (RIP) was a professional cook, and I always thought that she and AB wold have gotten along like a house on fire. They both are / were culinary yentas, felt passionate about their ingredients and knew the value of good basic cooking tools. Plus, to be honest, she had a soft heart for "bad boys".

I think AB hit on two things here. One is that you take your children out when they are young and two, when they act out, one of the parents takes the child out of the eating establishment. This is how my better half and I dealt with this, and we never had qualms about taking either child out later on to more

I understand that some people can't drink coffee with caffeine, but to me decaf is sad brown liquid that has lost its soul and purpose.

I really don't get the Millennials obsession with "Golden Girls". What's the attraction there?

Is there some sort of edict, that when you make a nature documentary or science short film, it must be narrated by a British gentlemen?
