It gets easier. They will visit you frequently at first and then the go somewhere for a while. They will come back to visit though, and usually the visits after that time away they are aware that they are dead and you can enjoy talking with them. Sorry for you loss :(

In high school, my then boyfriend and I went to a MLB game for his birthday. We leave the game at nearly 1 a.m. and we call our parents to say we are on our way home. It was about a 2 hour drive home but we were good kids and our parents trusted us out this late for a special occasion.

We were both terrified by that experience. Luckily, it hasn’t returned.

One retail job I worked, they would deduct the commission you received from your paycheck if the item was returned. This can really screw over some retail employees.

I am a person with a credit score that would qualify me for the lowest interest rate in the market, but my work keeps me in an area with a high cost of living which it makes it very difficult to save for a down payment. I could really only put 5% or so down, but currently pay more than what I mortgage on a $300,000…

I have done this and I really wouldn’t recommend it. I felt so drained and when the next week rolled around I dreaded the meeting marathon day. Now I just schedule my meetings in the afternoon, since I’m personally more productive in the morning.

I hope this helps students and families make more informed choices about where to attend school. Sometimes the loans are worth it, but I think we all know people with crushing student loan and debt and nothing to show for it.

That was my line of thinking until about a year ago. However, I have learned that for work travel and for graduate school that the ipad is so much more convenient than carrying around a laptop (unless you have a ulra-light laptop).

My high school debate teacher made the Daily Show with Jon Stewart required homework since it was always topical and explained current events clearly. He has made an indelible impact on my generation and I am so thankful I got to be along for the ride.
