Yeah, but it was us old fans who kept the franchise alive for the new ones during the 80’s and 90’s when no one else was into it. People seem to have no appreciation for that.

It was only a success because you can stick a two hour movie with nothing but a turd in it, and label it star wars and people would watch it. But in terms of drop off, merchandise sales, and every other metric, it was an abysmal failure.
