This same group complained about the last game that came out that did this, Asuras Wrath. People said the same thing. Hindus have been complaining about disrespectful depictions in Video Games and other media for a while now, it's just that they have been largely ignored, which IMO does not make it right.

Complaints like these come up all the time when stuff like this happens, remember Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? At any rate, I would say that this is a different situation because wheras in those games the gods were clearly inspired by the Hindu versions and may have even bore the same name, they were not

The Abrahamic religions are absent. This is a rather suspicious omission, considering that all of the other religions depicted in the game are 'dead' religions that are no longer worshipped. The devs are definately placing value on the religion of Hinduism as inferior to that of the Abrahamic religions in choosing who

As an Athiest and an Anthropologist, I find your stance increadibly damaging and innapropriate. Showing a lack of respect for the belief of another religion shows a lack of respect for their culture and way of life. I believe firmly in the right of people to worship, or not worship whatever they like, even if I

While he is certainly iconic, I don't think he is appropriate. The likes of Sly Cooper I can understand, but we are talking about a character on the opposite end of the spectrum from the types of characters one would expect from a game trying to emulate Smash Bros.

That's a shame, I think they deserve a spot more than many of the characters that have been revealed so far.

Don't get me wrong, he's definately iconic, I'm just not sure he is entirely appropriate with the sort of cast that a Sony-fied version of Smash Bros should probably have. He jsut doesn't seem quite as thematically appropriate, I'm not sure.

I am also rather happy that he made the cut, but I can't help but feel somewhat disappointed that no other PS1 era characters made the cut. The Roster seems to be a bit lacking on iconic characters like Sly Cooper, Daniel Fortesque, and Ratchet, and a bit heavy on characters that are, to be frank, a bit innapropriate,

It is suprising, definately. While his heyday may be over, it was impossible to play the PS1 and not know about the Crash games. Him and IMO Spyro should definately be on the roster as games as theirs made Playstation the giant it is today. I can't help but notice that the only PS1 era character is Daniel Fortesque

I agree wholeheartedly. I just looked at Wikipedia, and they are actually including Kratos, of all things. I think they are missing what made Smash Bros so fun. I am pleasently suprised to see that Fortesque made it into the game, considering his last game was on the PS1, however, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro are

I think that Sony has plenty of good characters they *could* use, but won't. The current X-box and Playstation market is oriented heavily towards dark, violent 'mature' games. The game needs more characters like Daniel Fortesque, Ratchet & Clank, Jax and Daxter, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Croc, etc and less

I certainly hope not. Characters like that and the Killzone etc characters are missing what people liked from Super Smash Bros. If I wanted to play a player v player fighter with Kratos in it I would go play Mortal Kombat. Daniel Fortesque versus Kratos would be ....jarring.

While as an athiest, I agree that religion can be problematic, I disagree that religion should be erased. Religion is a crucial component of cultural identity. Removing someone's right to choose to worship as they desire invalidates a portion of their cultural identity. It's a terribly colonialist mindset that other

I agree wholeheartedly. While there ar esoem followers of the Norse gods, Greek gods, neodruids, etc-they are small and detatched culturally from the culture of the religions that spawned them. The modern revival religions have very little to do with the ancient religions that spawned them. It's cultural appropriation

Culture however, is somethign to be respected. As religion is so often ingrained into culture, it is hard to disrespect one without disrespecting the other.

I love the art style, but was Toady notified of the existance of this guide? It seems a tad dishonest to be selling a guidebook of it if it was done without his consent and for profit.

Video games can be art and simultaneously void of artistic integrity. What Bioware is doing is essentially art by commission. Their art is created for a consumer, not for the sake of art, and as such whomeever buys it is entitled to voice their opinions over it based on how well it conforms to what they paid for. It's

I wholeheartedly agree. Definately liked the first the best, and was disappointed to see the direction the series went in.

I was getting some rather strong Babylon 5 "get the hell out of our galaxy!" vibes from that speech, but then it was all over :(

Oh look, more sexist comments from Tony Danza. What a suprise.
