My hope was that at the end of TLJ that Kylo Ren had become the Big Bad, ala Ulic Qel-Droma from the old comics, going full conqueror mode like an evil Alexander the Great.

You know, I realize I’m watching a TV show that is both intentionally comedic and fantastical. I also get that requires certain suspension of disbelief, honestly I get that. But even with that in mind, there are just boundaries that cannot be crossed or else all the structures come crashing down as too much accept.

I absolutely loved this episode because of how insanely silly it was and the utter committal to it. Also I did laugh a lot, so since the comedy worked for me, it helped the episode along. The God of Partying is just such a natural gimmick for Thor and he was so enjoyable that for once I didn’t find Captain Marvel…

Gee, I dunno, after centuries of marginalization, erasure, persecution and abuse, I think it’s perfectly fine for people to feel a twinge of pride when a celebrity announces they’re part of your group, particularly when doing so even today can result in backlash, hatred and mistreatment.
