Famous is subjective - that is subject to the opinion of the people who buy whatever it is you're selling. Apparently there are people willing to pay money that disagree with your girlfriend - they think what he's selling has value.

Just as long as they don't go with Scadal's theme of - natural hair when for sexy times/kidnapped and straight hair when you want to be taken seriously.

A black Cinderella! Now they've gone too far.

And the remake (as opposed to the original) Imitation of Life. Light skinned black woman playing a black woman passing for white in the original. White woman in the remake.

because most people never heard of the guy?

And don't even get me started on Hamilton! I mean, people of color should just sit quietly in the back of the bus and wait for a benevolent white person to write a role as a sassy best friend. Amiright?

Or you could cast a biracial/light skinned black person. Not like Hollywood doesn't have such people.

Well, they could put down some dollars seeing "Beyond The LIihts" or "Dear White People". Hollywood only sees green and if movies like that make money Hollywood would make more.

Moses, David, etc would be more Middle-Eastern than European Jewish looking - if you see the difference. You wouldn't have seen a lot of blond hair and blue eyes running around Palestine 3000 years ago.

It is absurd to qualify it as a step back, why? 41% of dialogue is quite close to half, and you can't expect that all movies will always have 50% of dialogue for each gender, that's not how things work.

It's a cartoon, things can work however the writer/director/producer wants it to work. They just have to

kind of?

the point I could never get about the "planted a fake birth certificate so that the baby could be president 50 years in the future" is naming the baby Barack Hussein Obama. Who knew 50 years in the future just that name wouldn't be an automatic "get to stepping"?

Hardly fawning - from the cast album Hamilton comes across as an arrogant, insecure, know-it-all. Lin-Manuel Miranda described him as if he lived today he'd constantly be in twitter fights with folks.

See Project Greenlight for exhibit 1 of that.

thing is, basketball skill is something you can actually measure. "Best Movie of 2016" is pretty arbitrary. In this sentence "best" is what the old white men who vote for this award like the best.

i don't need to see the interview - I see how they cast "Hail, Caesar!". An interview is just talk about how much they care and what they'd do given "the right script". Hail Caesar is what they did, not what they said.

Apparently white people hiring white actors, only nominating white actors, and giving awards to white actors is all good and not at all suspicious.

The Guardian described them as rich people getting together to give each other awards so they can feel good about themselves. I think the writer was pissed about some celebrity getting a humanitarian award when all the work is being done by people risking their lives out in the field but the guy who wrote a big check

He's successful without an Oscar nomination to his name. He knows he's never gonna get one.

They're toss it to their white grandkids who will make movies with their white prep school friends. Yeah, that'll fix the problem.
