This isn’t going to surprise anyone with kids, but I’m wondering if there are any podcasts centered around Minecraft? I know there are YouTube channels and that honestly makes more sense given the content, but my kid will listen to Minecraft-centric audiobooks and I prefer audio options to unfettered YouTube access.

It’s one of the most-spoken languages on the planet. I chose it as an example. Don’t read into shit that isn’t there.

For those of you who have kids who listen to podcasts, what age did you find they were able to track? My 4 year old can listen to some stories with characters but podcasts have not worked out.

You’re absolutely right. But there are a number of measures Zoom could take to prevent this. Some other people have already mentioned but they include:

My experience as a reviewer for the MDPI family of journals makes me think they're more interested in author fees than good science.

That shouldn’t stop a real scholar from following the paper genre conventions. Even if someone else did exactly the same study of the same subject and drew the same conclusions, they did it wrong and yours is better.

dick swett can stay

Just a note, that’s not the normal format for Wow in the World. They just recently switched to a daily “game show” format during the COVID pandemic. You may want to check that article’s publication date.

I am still shocked that the groups purchasing and configuring zoom for these high security institutions did not take 5 min to learn about what options for security zoom has.

No. Just No. There are way too many ways that could go badly by accident or worse. The host of a meeting should not have the power to destroy my computer. (Which is what you propose, no matter how much review or “safety” is added.)

Putting embedded ransomware into an otherwise legit product is near the top of the list of bad ideas a software company could come up with.

this is the correct takeaway!!!!!!!!

You know what, teens forcing government officials to pay attention to security and encryption should be given a fucking medal.

That reminds me of a podcast I was listening to the other day ... the host was interviewing a mom of three kids about how working from home was going. She was talking about how the morning went pretty well (while they played background audio of her actual morning, who sounded completely hectic), how one of them did

I should be recording my house and putting that up for podcast. I can call it 16 hours of screaming. It can be a feel good podcast that you don't have to deal with these monsters.
