But Grantham is all about moral responsibility rather than financial.  He MUST keep Downton afloat so all the downstairs people stay employed, but appears to have no idea how to do it apart from waiting for more money to drop out of the sky.

"Dorset… shit, I'm still only in Dorset"

Exactly.  Sorkin did the idealised fantasy White House and news organisation… Downton is the idealised fantasy version of wealthy job-creators.

The whole Sir Richard bit was pretty damning of the nouveau riche as being too interested in accumulating money and power and lacking the moral superiority to wield them properly.

They tried to show us future Fringe Division and future Massive Dynamic, but the fugitive thing made it impossible for them to spend enough time in either place for it to meaningfully connect back to what we were familiar with.

The real fun will be when someone tries to adapt one of these exposés into a movie, especially when it comes to casting.  Having disgruntled ex-scientologist actors playing themselves would be gold.

She should write a script for M. Night Shyamalan… it'd be the disaster that ensures their careers go on forever.

And being born mobile is super handy when you're in between jobs.

Since they were avoiding nipples, they should've just had a closeup of milk squirting in Dylan McDermott's face.  It could've been an homage to Visitor Q.

I'd say it's the midway between a mullet and a rat's tail.

It's an idealised plutocracy where benevolent job-creators really care about their employees.  As fantasies go, it translates pretty well without having to be British.

"like instead of doing the drinking (or eating), the drinking (or eating) is doing u"

In season six Cora will divorce Lord Grantham, move back to the US and become Carol Channing.

Yes, that's right!  It was the bed that killed him!

Dr Clarkson should be treating Cora for her inability to speak without her head dropping forward.  She seems to deliver most of her dialogue with her chin resting on her chest… maybe they're setting up a heroin addiction plotline?

Okay, it's debateable because it was intended to be a more direct remake, but gradually evolved in pre-production.

This film still has one of my favorite technical gags that the "found footage" people have failed to rip off as far as I've seen.

Scarface isn't really a remake despite having the same title.

Wow… It's almost enough to restore your faith in humanity *sniff*
