As far as I know, most of the crew on Survivor is Australian so I think it's a cost-saving / convenience thing that they tend to do so many seasons on Pacific islands.

For me, it's the furrowed brow acting that pisses me off.  Everyone is guilty of it in this show (because THIS IS SERIOUS), but Charlie is the worst.  It's that or she's crying… or that and she's crying.
