I know, but my point is that in most instances, esp. the high profile ones over the past year or so, video is clearly showing them either resisting or mouthing off to escalate it to violence, when the simple method is to comply then have your day in court.

I wasn’t justifying it, but anyone with common sense knows normal protocol is NOT to! But resisting arrest can also mean reaching for their gun, and there isn’t a judge/jury around that would side with the victim in that instance because I can state unequivocally that a criminal would then attempt to shoot the officer.
