The white dress with cape is such a copy of what Gwyneth P wore a couple of years ago though.

I’m here for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s EGOT and for the fantasy of La-La Land to go fuck itself.
Are you a teacher?
I’ve never been adept in the subject but look to science to tell the truth of how our world works. Scientists’ voices are important right now. Alt facts and flat earthers are running rampant. Not that I’m saying you should make your work overtly political or grim, but debunking myths or explaining why global warming…
Math turned me away from the sciences.
Oh! Seconding the inclusion of contributions by women and minorities! It still chaps my ass that they taught the “Watson and Crick model” of DNA when I was in undergrad in the early 00's. Justice for Rosalind Franklin! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosalind_Franklin
Chemistry, especially the periodic table. My teacher showed a documentary called “The Mystery of Matter” about the discovery of the elements. Who knew elements could be so thrilling?!? She also showed us a video of alkali metals reacting with air and water. I have a strange desire to cut strips of pure potassium like…
This is a really cool idea! I’ve always found it interesting how knowing basic chemistry could influence techniques for cooking and baking. Anything about the human brain and how it functions is fascinating. I also appreciate when scientific breakthroughs or advances are explained so I can appreciate them and dream of…
I vote genetics and brain chemistry.
Adaptions are fascinating.
And most explanations of things like how vaccines work leave such massive gaps thatthey don’t explain anything. Same for explanations of evolution. Very few explain how new species with different numbers of chromosomes are created.
An occasional piece on the contributions of women or minorities would be great.
Any sexual health stuff is something I think we need more of. I was also a big fan of kitchen chemistry and explanations on how medicines work.
Were there parts that put you off from pursuing the subject?
I did pursue the subject, but i liKed things with medical and political implications best like why SGLT2 inhibitors treat diabetes or why you cant wash fertilizer into the river (fuck you rand Paul).
The Giver.
my parents are both scientists and so they were so happy that I was taking a bunch of “real” science classes even though I was leaning towards majoring in English. I called them that very night while trying desperately to memorize that shit and I was like “fuck this I am signing up for a Shakespeare seminar next…
I took the pre-med intro bio in college and loved it, especially the genetics stuff. The exact moment I knew it wasn’t for me, though, was when we were told we had to memorize the charges of all the amino acids.
I think immunology is a fascinating topic, but I’m a nerd, so
I’m stress eating. Who else is?
