Unfortunately, I’ve seen more of them.
Unfortunately, I’ve seen more of them.
I live in Seattle, so a few days ago I sat down on the floor with my 4 month old and we talked about the pros and cons of each candidate and initiative, then filled out my ballot and mailed it in.
The one thing that separates homophobia and transphobia from racism is that, for the most part, those elements of who someone is can be hidden from public view. A person who is gay can remain in the closet if they so choose.
The point he was making is that we should only care about the thing he personally experiences. Are you under the impression that women can hide that they are women and not experience sexism?
If you’re black, racism clearly seems like the worse of all the bigotries. If you’re gay, homophobia seems worse. If you’re a woman, sexism the most insidious.
Let’s note the very different takes from Jezebel on two very similar events here. Amy Schumer mocks Trump at a show and gets positive coverage; Dave Chapelle mocks Hillary at a show and gets negative coverage.
I was pro-choice for everyone else, but pro-life for myself. But not because I thought they were evil, but because I didn’t think it was something that I could do. 20 years later, I’ve decided that I would get one if I needed to.
I lived in sin for three years first, so I think I’m good for at least some sort of minor fire or tornado.
No fair. My heterosexual marriage doesn’t have any superpowers.
Oh Italy.
I’m pretty embarrassed to admit this, but I was once anti-choice. I was a born-again christian asshole. I do my penance now by giving money every month to Planned Parenthood and having an abortion every…
Well, it’s like a mule in a Sambo’s. Everyone knows that the hooves need trimming, but nobody wants to sell the Ten Commandments for the extra oxycodone.
Then you must love the grays!
I think long torsos are actually the biggest issue. I’m thankful for tunics and longer shirts that have become popular lately. I buy my pant from old navy and kohls mostly because both make pants in short length but not petite (I’m also chubby)
I think she’s dressed as a future part-time instructor at a small for-profit college with no medical or retirement benefits.
“Pax and Shiloh are Team Brad, and the other ones—Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne—are Team Angie”
Petite pants are almost all too long. I’m 5 feet with huge boobs and a long torso. Dressing myself is so fun!
I really enjoyed Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach, which has lots of information about different things that can happen to your body after you die (decomposition, donating it to science, etc)
YES. One of the best books about it. Also, “Stiff”, by Mary Roach. Very educational and entertaining.
